Les autorités de l'État fédéral ont accueilli hier soir en grande pompe le pape François, premier chef de l’Église catholique à fouler le sol de la péninsule arabique, berceau de l’islam.

Avant de quitter Rome, hier soir, le pape François a posté un message sur Twitter : « Je me rends (aux Emirats arabes unis) comme un frère pour écrire ensemble une page de dialogue et parcourir ensemble les chemins de paix. Priez pour moi ! » Selon son programme, cette visite doit être dominée par le dialogue entre les religions. Une rencontre interreligieuse internationale est d'ailleurs prévue ce lundi.
